1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ritual Lock ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TabTab LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Ritual Lock is a digital wellness application designed to help users develop more mindful phone usage habits. The App utilizes Apple's Screen Time API to temporarily restrict access to selected applications until the user completes a meaningful ritual.

Key features include:

  • App blocking through Screen Time integration
  • Various ritual modes (breathing exercises, intention-setting, prayer, gratitude, etc.)
  • AI-generated personalized content for certain ritual types
  • Usage statistics and tracking

3. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

4. Screen Time Authorization

The App requires authorization to use Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls framework. By granting this authorization, you understand that:

  • The App will be able to block access to applications you select
  • You can revoke this authorization at any time through iOS Settings
  • The App cannot block critical system apps (Phone, Messages, Maps, Settings)
  • You maintain an "escape hatch" to remove restrictions if needed

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Ritual Lock offers both free and premium ("Pro") tiers. Premium features are available through auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely by Apple:

  • Yearly subscription: $49.99/year with a 3-day free trial
  • Weekly subscription: $4.99/week

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies.

6. AI-Generated Content

Certain ritual modes use artificial intelligence to generate personalized content, including prayers, reflections, and messages. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content is for inspirational and wellness purposes only
  • Such content does not constitute professional religious, medical, or psychological advice
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of AI-generated content
  • Fallback content is provided if AI generation fails

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App responsibly and not to:

  • Use the App in a way that violates any applicable laws
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to restrict access on devices you do not own or have authority over
  • Misuse the App in ways that could cause harm to yourself or others

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TABTAB LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, MISSED OPPORTUNITIES, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your license to use the App will immediately cease.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of California.
